Wilmington- Donald K. Taber, age 80, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Don was born in Dover, DE, son of the late William S. and Ruth Kemp Taber. He graduated from Dover HS and the University of Delaware. He joined Hercules as a Research Chemist. After serving as an officer in the US Army in Germany, he returned to Hercules. In 1968, he moved to Hercules headquarters in Wilmington becoming Manager of Employment, and eventually became Manager of World-Wide Compensation. He joined ARCO Chemical Company in mid-79 as Director of Compensation. After retiring from ARCO in 92, he established his own business, Brandywine Compensation Associates. He has been active with the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation as a tour guide, crew member, and assisting in administration thru design of their computer software.
Don is survived by his wife, Anita, after 56 years of marriage, and daughter Trey Taber of Columbia, MD. He leaves two sisters, Joan White of Bear, DE and Bea Derickson of Seaford, DE; one brother, Bill Taber of Wilmington and one brother-in-law, George Kelsey of Hawaii.
