Wilmington- Anthony Peri, age 83, passed away in Ft Myers, FL, on Wednesday, November 21,2018.
He was born in Sciara, Sicily a small town near Palermo to the late Marianna and Francesco Salvatore Peri. He emigrated to the United States in 1961. He was a self-employed stone mason whose reputation kept him always
wor king by word of mouth. He enjoyed horticulture, especially gardening and fruit trees, small game hunting with his friend, Tom Patti and late brother-in- law, Domenick Giambrone, but mostly spending time with his grandchi ldren.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine (Giambrone); 3 children, Sam Peri of FL, Gina Aloise (Luciano) of Wilmington and Mary DiPasquale of NJ;4 grandchildren, Gabrielle Rhoades, Joseph and Anthony DiPasquale and Laura Staino; 2 great grandsons, Anthony, Jr. and Maximillian; a sister, Grazia Fragale and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rosaria Passafiume.
A viewing will be held on Thur, Nov. 29, from 6-8 pm, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri., Nov. 30, at 11am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
